Derek Greedy first worked in the waste management industry as a regulator from 1975 - 1985. Derek then held operational and technical positions for two of the major waste management companies in the UK both of whom were predominantly focused on landfill. From 2001 he worked as a Consultant before joining Warwickshire County Council in May 2005 as their Principal Waste Management Advisor.
He is an industrial chemist, a Chartered Environmentalist, a Chartered Waste Manager and a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM). Derek also holds the International Status of the International Solid Waste Association’s (ISWA) International Waste Manager programme. Although he retired in March 2012 he is a Past President of CIWM and the immediate past Chair of ISWA’s Working Group on Landfill.
